Ajax Summit: Derek Powazek of Technorati

Category: Ajax

Derek is going to show us the most humble implementation that you are doing to see in the next two days. It is a smart part of the Technorati redesign. Derek is an HTML/CSS guy who “has friends who write JavaScript, and knows people who write PHP” :)

RED LIGHT ALERT

Unfortunately, if a presenter puts up a red light, we are in mini-NDA mode, so can’t discuss the new Technorati redesign. But it looks nice :)

An interesting topic that came out of the talk was using Ajax to suck in data that you don’t want to effect the page loading, rather than because you really need to do XHR itself.
