Anyone know when is the next update? I am so hoping for ability to remove 1 or more songs from the play list. Other than that this is a great program for use on my home built DVR connected to my big screen TV during parties.

You can delete a single song in the playlist by selecting it and hitting delete on the keyboard.

Yes great piece of software. since there is no “official” forum, here’s my wish list for the next releases:
- ability to remove 1 or more song from the playlist (or a good doc explaining how to do it without clearing all the playlist) :)
- Show the cover (ie \MyArtist\Myalbum\cover.jpg)
- equaliser
- skins or even better,ability to use the same skin that the remote winamp
- ability to resize the skin
- show more meta tags (or ability have a customizable window for embedding extra meta tags fields).
- a bulletin board on your website :)

Q: How do I stream music from another computer?
A: First, connect your browser to the computer you wish to PLAY the music on. If you want to stream to your local machine, connect to http://127.0.0.1:5151.

Then, connect the AjaxAMP Media Library to the computer you wish to stream music from. At the bottom of the Media Library Window, there is a field where you can enter the IP address of another computer and a “Connect To” button. When you connect the AjaxAMP Media Library to another computer running AjaxAMP, you can browse the remote computer’s Media Library and drag/enqueue/play songs from it.

Q: How do I stream music to a computer which is not running AjaxAMP?
A: If the computer you are on is not running AjaxAMP, you can still stream music from a remote computer running AjaxAMP, but, of course, you will not have full control of Winamp from the web interface. Connect your browser to the computer you wish to stream music from and add a “/library” to the URL. For example: http://127.0.0.1:5151/library. You will get a stripped down version of AjaxAMP presenting just the Media Library. Clicking the play button next to a song or folder will generate a playlist containing those songs. Clicking a song will download it. You can also drag the song links directly into Winamp’s playlist window.

So, AjaxAmp allows you to control a computer remotely on a network to play music. I thought you just pointed your browser to it, and listened to the music in you browser, not play the music on the host computer. Because then you could have music on the go. Is there anyway to stream music from a host computer to another.

Q: Why Is the Media Library blank?
A: The AjaxAMP Media Library does not rely on Winamp’s built-in Media Library for operation. You must add folders to the library in AjaxAMP’s plugin configuration screen.To reach the configuration screen, choose “AjaxAMP Preferences…” from Winamp’s “Options” menu or right-click Winamp and choose “AjaxAMP Preferences…” from the pop-up menu. Then, choose “Library” on the left side of the configuration screen.

Use the “Add Folder” button to add folders to the Media Library. Use the “Reindex” button to update the search index after adding or removing shared folders.

Q: Why doesn’t the search function work?
A: The search index must be rebuilt after folders are added to or removed from the Media Library. Use the “Reindex” button on the “Library” page of the configuration screen to manually rebuild the index.

My media library has a lot of music – over 20,000 tracks. The ajaxamp media libray appears to be empty and searches return no entries. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem?
When connecting to the Media Library – should it also contain the port number 5151?

There is a bug in v3.0 where streaming will fail if the destination computer's media library is empty. If you are having this problem, please download v3.0.1 from the website. It should solve the problem.

The title says “AjaxAMP v3.0 is a Web 2.0 plugin for the excellent Winamp Media Player.”

In what way is this web 2.0? Because it has ajax in it? :)

No offence though, it’s a nice app… but I think it’s getting a bit silly lately as people are naming everything that has a bit of ajax in it “web 2.0″.
