Another End to Back-button Tyranny

Category: Articles, Dojo

The well-known Dojo toolkit provides a solution for the infamous back button problem, but Mike Stenhouse demonstrates how to implement back button trapping yourself along with bookmarking support (via re-writing the browser URL) in a well-written article.

I’ve written a little script to try and fix the back button and
bookmarking issues common to some AJAX apps…

Not the best use of AJAX, I know, but I’m just trying to demonstrate the
idea behind the fix… Any feedback welcome.

Great blog, keep up the good work. As a web developer it is exciting to see the explosion of this. Literally everyday people are creating innovative new ways to use Ajax. I wasn’t aware of this blog until today, but it is great! (found it from eBay believe it or not). I have already started to use some of the PHP-related techniques on one of my sites, trying to auto-complete search results ala Google Suggest.
