Behr: Rich Color Choosing
We started to get interested in Ajax applications as a way to build better web products for users. A better experience.
An example of an application that is hugely effective, is the space chooser application that you get when you pick out paint, or go to home depot.
A good version of this is found at Behr.com, and it happens to be powered by Laszlo and Flash. It would be really interesting to see if the Laszlo tool could produce a dhtml version that compares well.
This application really helps users design their homes. They can get inspiration, and try out colors on real rooms.

FWIW, I think that the current state of OpenLaszlo DHTML support should make it possible to create the same application without Flash.
[...] Op Ajaxian staat een post over een rich internet application van Behr, gebouwd met Flash en Laszlo. Een schitterende tool voor wanneer je je huis (binnen of buiten) gaat schilderen. This site has been about for ages. The concept is good, but it’s Flash and it’s a little clunky. Is this really Ajax-related news? - a site that might be improved through AJAX?
Concepts are good but not really well implented. It’s slow .. and to much clicks to do something. How UI interraction is designed, it must be an old project.

Why not let people upload their own pictures and then let them select the wall regions (or invent some kind of magic wand php-gd thing that pre-makes the 10 largest regions) . Then color those!
