Bloxpress: A Modular Ajax WordPress theme

Category: Examples, PHP

Mentor has been working on an Ajax WordPress theme for quite awhile, and he recently set up a demo site to get feedback and track down bugs.

Every component of the sidebars can be positioned via drag and drop, and you can also remove components using a handy “toolbar” at the top. You can then save the layout and reload it next time you visit.

He plans to release the first version very soon, if not today. To be honest, I’m not sure how much customization I’d ever use on blogs, given I read most via RSS or just spend two minutes on the actual site. Still, its a very cool proof of concept!

Not sure about the ability to re-layout the blog, but the comments and infomation handling work really nicely.

Buenas, quiero decir q el theme es una pasada, perfecto.

Yo he modificado el contempt y le he añadido ajax y un mini-dashboard.

Lo podeis ver funcionando en y tb lo podeis descargar.

Un saludo.

Umm, well, i have the Bloxpress Theme onboard as an alternate layout for readers. Personally i like the Orange out-of-the-zip for color scheme but thats not the intention; the main focus is the use of AJAX and that seems to have been thoughtfully prepared for this Theme.

I am pleased to report and compliment the fact that all sections repeatedly revisited seen no noticable slow-down, in fact i like the “pep” that AJAX seems to invigorate to areas of this layout.
I would like to see more AJAX plug-ins such as a few good WEATHER sidebar applications and such.

On the scale of 1-10 i rate Bloxpress 10 for the courage to step out of the box and present a bold new initiative in the world of Blogging schemes. Nicely Done IMHO
