Is it just me, or does Dojo's TabContainer fail (even the TabContainer demo) if you correctly set the DOCTYPE as the first element on the page?

I have read the DOCTYPE documentation, and with a very simple page (copied the demo page), TabContainer - ContentPane fails to display the ContentPane's contents if there is a DOCTYPE in place. I've tried HTML 4.01 amd XHTML 1.0 and 1.1, Strict and Transitional. I'm using Safari 2.0.4.

ergo...just so you know, Sortable is being deprecated in favor of the new FilteringTable, and one of the main reasons why is because of an attribute bug in Opera 9, which is a known issue (basically, if you have an attribute called "selected" on a tr tag, and you try to access the value of it via getAttribute, it returns "selected"--the name of the attribute).

Ok, ive installed latest (9.02) Opera and tested in on dojo main site, everything is about 5-10x slower than firefox and ie ( like scrolling the page), fisheye widget is totally screwed, accordion is broken, layout widget gets broken on click, lfx demos dont respond :/ 90% of demos on main site are broken. On the other hand ive creted a banner rotator that uses dojo.lfx for transitions and this works fine on Opera.
hmmm.. after writing this ive begun to view the tests directory in opera and it seems that most of the widgets actually work ( fisheye is still having problems ), so it seems that something on main page is having big issues with opera. SortableTable widget does not mark the selected row... ehh lots of stuff working partially. hope this helps guys . Im on win 2k3 server now.

I test with Opera also. For graphics it is actually faster than Firefox (especially on Macintosh). If something is broken in Opera, it's an opportunity to contribute a patch, not an intentional omission in dojo!

I have asked me more than twice since I develop web applications why dojo is not standard compliant. The most standard compliant browser - Opera 9 - doesn't support dojo. This is a cause not to choose dojo although it looks great in FF.
