This seems exactly like it, real-time, javascript, syntax-highlighting, etc. Only that the server is made in PHP and MySQL.

Sounds like a cool feature.
I’ll probably be using this a lot next year in my classes.

Since it’s any text, it can be used for other languages as well.

Be it Javascript, C#, HTML, Java, Python,…
A cool feauture would be if this could somehow be turned into a plugin for an IM. You could purposly keep it away from MSN and put it to Pidgin(for instance, there are many other good freeware IM’s)

Don’t worry, the site will be up soon! We planned the EtherPad launch for 7am PST, and we’re still running the final tests. This post seems to have jumped the gun a little due to a time zone misunderstanding.

Looks like they’ve just pulled the site. I looked at it once and thought “wow, this is cool, I’ll share with some people” and by the time they followed the link I sent them they just got a message saying:
“EtherPad launches at 7AM PST
Please check back then.”

It looks like it could be an amazingly useful tool though from the brief play I got to have with it.
