Fwicki: Ajax Mashable Feed Reader

Category: Showcase

The Genesis Project has released Fwicki, an RSS feed reader that combines mashup, ajax, feed generation, and more.

What is Fwicki?

  • Personalize your RSS experience: Take RSS to a new level with fwicki. Create a custom news environment where you get your news and information in one centralized location. Fwicki is much more than a web-based RSS reader and can be tailored to your news interests.
  • Mashup the perfect blend: Choose the quality RSS feeds that fit your style and mashup a single master-feed to create your fwicki. Set parameters in the fwicki account area to determine the number of results in your perfect blend. Make your fwicki private or public. Use the unique master-feed to create a fwicki page. Tag your fwicki and increase its value and relevance with the search engines. If you are a site owner or blogger, syndicate your master-feed and use it at your site.
  • Create a custom fwicki page: Use the custom header and footer tools in the “my fwickis” area to create a custom look for your fwicki. If you are a site owner or blogger, integrate your fwicki into the look of your site.
  • Community approval process: Vote useless fwickis out of the community. Who knows what’s best for the community more than the members who love it? Get involved and make fwicki a leading internet community.

[…] I recently saw mention of a web app called Fwicki via Ajaxian. Fwicki is labeled as a “RSS reader that you can tailor to your interest” and that remind me of a personal project I was working on a few months ago called TNT Feeder. […]

While this does look good (and I am still trying to figure out the best RSS client for me) I can not see using this until there is an OPML import capability.

Notronwest:

This is the guy that coded Fwicki.Com. I just wanted to let you know that I have an OPML import function on the way. Once it is complete and tested I will push it out to the production server. If you already have an account set up at Fwicki you will receive an email when this and any other features are added.
