Google Maps Viewer Widget
You may have noticed that Google Maps got a new tweak recently.
In the bottom right of the map viewer, we see a magnified widget that tells us the area that we are viewing. You can grad that blue area and the main viewer pane will move accordingly.
It is nice to see features like this implemented with raw JavaScript to show that it can be done nicely. Yahoo Maps has had this widget in its Flash viewer.

Woohoo, Madison, WI–Go Badgers!
You can also grab the map and move it around, while the blue bit stays in the center.
