I’ve figured a way out to add Adsense to GooglePages. Just use my configuration found at:

If you do it right it’s not tricky!

Hi Blueelvis – thanks for the comments, yes, I know how to use the templates given by Google, but they don’t have as pure black one ala http://www.aworan.net so I re-designed and went with the nice clean white! Works for me, so I’m pleased. Good luck!

Any one know how to add google analytics to googlepages
I notice that the HTML edit have the code but when view online can’t find out the code.And google analytics tell me that it can’t work.

Geetha,

Not sure how to make your own templates (I don’t write code), but you may change the look of your site (if you wish to change the color of the background) from Page Manager by:

a) clicking on the page you wish to edit (which will take you to Page Editor), and,

b) click on Change Look in the upper right

Should you tire of working with Google Page, may I suggest using topcities.com to host your web page, and WebDwarf V.2 (http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/dwarf/) to build your page (it is so easy even I was able to build a page).

You can upload your own site design and point to that instead. I tested by uploading a template I liked quickly to see if it’d work, and it does. No need to use their layouts. :)

Bad code or not – people have gmail, people will have pages access. People who aren’t webdevs or coders won’t give a rats butt how ugly the code is. All they’ll see is a neat way to build a basic webpage/site, which is all most really want anyway. It’s going to catch on like wildfire with them. Me? I’ll stick to hackin’ out code with Quanta and piecing together imagery with GIMP/Photoshop.

It’s nice, but pages can get messy fast. My page got screwed up just by switching templates a couple of times. Also it doesn’t do any clean up on HTML so it can get pretty invalid. This just goes to show how hard it is to make an online WYSIWYG. I should know, my company and I have been trying for many many years to make a good one and things like this always happen. I think the best part, and in web apps this is often overlooked, I love how it saves as you work so that even if your browser crashes or it times-out your work is recently saved. I also like how dragging images doesn’t just change where the image tag goes, it actually aligns to the left, center, or right!
