I still see the first parameter listed as a string on many reference sites, so I’m not surprised people do it. If you look at old code, that’s whats there.

Don’t get me wrong I like it a lot too! It’s just so many people don’t even know that they can pass a function there and there are numerous reasons why not doing so is wrong.

Nosredna, I fixed setInterval and setTimeout with extra arguments for IE too ages ago (setInterval(callback, 100, arg1, argN)); in any case the window prefix is redundant as well:
setInterval(tweenColor, 1000);
but this APIs playground is something truly interesting and only carlw could spot that “imperfection” :D

Heh. Yeah. I thought sending strings to timers was old school. Especially when it’s a function call without parameters! The easiest case to fix.
