@Tim: No sweat my man. I just want to ensure that we get all feedback, both good and bad, so that we can improve jQuery. I appreciate your feedback and if you ever decide to look at the library and have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me at reybango .at. gmail (dot) com.

I didn't find anything lacking from jQuery, it's just by the time I got round to looking at it, I'd already written much of my own framework as I'd found a few problems in the earlier releases of prototype and wanted to make a cleaner, faster alternate for my own personal use. By the time I came to look at jQuery and some others out there... there weren't many bases left to cover for what I needed. - It's not that I think jQuery is bad in any way... I've just already covered the areas it would have been of most help to me. - For most developers, I can see it being a great time saver. Sorry if I gave the impression that I was being negative about jQuery in general, that wasn't the intention.

@Tim: Have you taken the time to actually talk to guys like John Resig or Alex Russell? They're pretty sharp guys and certainly on par in terms of skill with the 3 names you mentioned. So I'm kind of surprised to to read you comments.

Its too bad you didn't find use for jQuery. What did you feel it was lacking? Any feedback to make the library better is appreciated.

okay I was being too harsh... water my last post down with half a cup of water, i didn't mean to be quite so facetious! My point was just that I've got more respect for those guys because I've found more use for their stuff without sacrificing any creative freedom and have found little use for Dojo and jQuery in comparison. and that's probably just a personal thing!! - I often find the real geniuses aren't the ones at expos, etc. talking the talk (thus the derogatory "fluff 2.0" statement!).
