Lightbox.js with moo.fx
Sean McBride at alwasybeta has a detailed entry describing their modification of the lightbox.js tool we covered earlier. For use at alwaysbeta, Sean integrated moo.fx, added a close button, did some general code cleanup, and added an attractive Apple-like spinner graphic for the loading image.
In the process, Sean found some bugs in moo.fx that were then fixed and reincorporated back into the library. So if you are using moo.fx, you might want to check out Sean’s post for details. Lightbox.js also was updated to add a close button similiar to what Sean was doing, so he went with the “official” version for that.

Surely you mean Lightbox, and not Moo.fx, in “Moo.fx also was updated to add a close button similiar to what Sean was doing, so he went with the “officialâ€? version for that.”
Good catch, thanks. Fixed.
This is really cool.
Thanks!
[...] How do I know this shocking fact? Because we got up to #4 on Del.icio.us popular and our traffic didn’t spike much. As you can see in the graph on the right, on Sunday del.icio.us accounted for almost 20% of our incoming traffic. This might sound significant, but Ajaxian’s post got us even more traffic than that. Compared to sites like Reddit, Digg or Fark, that’s kind of pathetic. A site I ran in high school actually got Farked once. We got 35,000 unique visitors in a day from that link; alwaysBETA got 445 from Del.icio.us popular. [...]
[...] Well, it might just be one data point, but the guys at alwaysbeta saw more traffic from our post on their lightbox mod then from getting on the front page of del.icio.us/popular. [...]
This lightbox is sos easy to use that anyone novice can use it for its website.
And it is by far the lightest lirary to incorporate into your page. However, moo.fx lacks some of the animation features provided by yahoo library. Hope they developed in the future…
Yep. Lightbox is a very cool hack. I’m planning to use it on my site. Thanks dudes.
