The Trident engine is based on the current IE you’ve installed on your machine, so there’s no multiple Trident engine switches, yet.

fabienmenager is right about the Trident, Webkit, and Gecko versions. I am not aware of the webkit problem, but will report to dev team. Since this is a beta release, bugs will be found. It would be really helpful if you could report your findings on our forum, so that we can keep good track of issues and request. yuki@Lunascape

@cancelbubble: I tried it on my personal website, and the Webkit renderer didn’t render -webkit-box-shadow (or just box-shadow), didn’t blur text-shadow shadows as specified, and didn’t load my @font-face fonts. There could be more, but those were the most obvious things to me.

barryvan (first commenter) mentioned @font-face didn’t work in WebKit when he tried it (I’m assuming he tried it correctly). That’s been supported since Safari 3.1, I think?

The webkit is from the nightly builds. Looking at http://nightly.webkit.org/builds/trunk/win/1 the build in Lunascape was made on 2009-10-26 05:05:15 UTC which corresponds to more than the latest Safari 4. And I guess that the Trident/IE version is the one installed on the system.

Thanks, looks like it only covers Gecko (same as Firefox 3.5.4). It gives a WebKit version (r50048) but doesn’t say what browser that equates to. Didn’t seem to find a Trident/IE equivalent.

It’d be awesome if they could clearly indicate on their home page what browser versions Lunascape equates to.

I will never let you debug IE pages with Firebug. Firbug is designed to work with the Gecko engine, not Trident.

This *could* be a really useful tool, but it appears that the rendering engines aren’t necessarily the most recent. The webkit engine, for example, couldn’t handle @font-face declarations when I tried it.

For now, it’s simpler just to open up each browser as needed.
