The browser sniffing is crap though. They look for “Firefox” apparently, so Firefox 2 alpha (ok, bad example) and Camino (that also uses gecko 1.8) gets the “we don’t support your browser”. Feels a bit like being back in 1998.

It looks nice but it is an extremely busy page. I like the page options feature but i think that color and layout are not enough options. The walkthrough is fine, but IT DOES NOT WORKwhen you narrow the page.

Wow, that’s impressive and very smooth (especially the part on the right) and the modal window sort of reminds me of the lightbox/greybox scripts but with a hint of blue.

Unfortunately I find their search to be lacking because first it loads a new page and then somehow the results don’t match the layout. Also their weather widget only supports the US zip codes – and for everything else you need the name of the town. Surely they can improve this

But on the other hand you have to give the folks at yahoo some credit for releasing some free Ajax samples.

The funny thing is, I didn’t even see the search box until I hit the “Take Tour” button and it highlighted it for me.

The page is *very* busy, but not as busy as it used to be. I realize that Yahoo holds with the philosphy that every pixel on the home page is value realestate, but I seriously think that adding a few extra pixels of margin around important elements will improve the over-all look and feel.

Me too. So much happiness makes us all grumpy.
I quite liked the layout, but I didn’t try too hard to break the page. The walkthrough overlay is neat, but its been done before. You can’t blame them for trying.

Nice site. It is easy for Yahoo to reset your options after one leaves the page (ie. meta tag). I wish they put ‘Movies’ section…:)

Sure looks nice, but lags on the setting storage for sure.
And its a bit desapointing to see yahoo makes such lazy programming.
