PassPack New Version

PassPack is a free, secure online password manager.
A new release just got out the door and includes a bunch of new features:
- Import and Export
It’s your data, do with it what you like. - Backup and Restore
Make and restore encrypted copies of your PassPack entries. - Pack up and Auto-save when inactive
You decide when PassPack locks and if it should auto-save. - Anti-phishing Welcome Message
You pick it, phishers can’t reproduce it (it’s IP filtered). - Tags, search and navigation
Tag your entries, quick search your list, alphabetical order paging. - Know when to save
A big RED button tells you if you need to save or not. - Password Generator
Quickly make and fill in a password in your entry. - Scrambled Password field
Select and copy your passwords while safely hidden from prying eyes. - Go to Button
Copy your password, click to go to the website, then paste. All done.

Its great to see the innovation on this project. I look forward to more great releases from the PassPack team.
I love the concept and the execution seems to be quite good but i was surprised and disappointed to find quite a few glitches in the layout in Firefox 2.0, although the Javascript works great.
@Jeffrey
I am happy for your enthusiasm. We’ve got a new tool already in alpha test. I think Tara will make a post about it today on the blog.
@Gudbergur
This is strange, because I developed PassPack on Firefox 2. Could you contact me, please, and explain to me what kind of glitches you found in the layout?
I am using PassPack and it is so great.
I was drowning in more than 200 accounts and I was desperately waiting for an online, client-side, all-in-your-browser, crypto tool.
only a suggestion: custom fields for custom data entry.
Thanks guys.
@Kerub
We’ve had a couple of requests for custom fields so far. We’ll look into it. Thanks for the kind words - always nice to hear (read?) them. Cheers!
@Jeffrey
As Francesco mentioned, that blog post on the new tool is coming. … What are the chances someone can write a script to add more hours to the day? [wink]
Looks interesting, I am personally a little hesitant about storing passwords in an application which is labled as beta but I will definitley try it out!
GMail is beta…
Hello all,
Sorry I meant to post this link sooner. The new tool is an auto-login bookmarklet that we’re calling the “Smart Button” (suggestions for a better name are welcome). Here’s a post with info and link to a video demo.
In the meantime, we’ve also released Disposable Logins, also known as One Time Passwords. Together with the auto-login, these will help protect against keyloggers in Internet points and on public computers. Here’s the post on the PassPack blog.
Cheers,
Tara
Hi Everyone,
thanks for the disposable login tip to thwarte keyloggers Tara, here’s another link to a keylogger detector that I highly recommend. It’s http://www.spycop.com and I use it to catch programs like http://www.spectorsoft.com
