Thanks to everyone who has stopped by to check out Lace! The Ajaxian linkage was very unexpected.

So allow me to clarify a few things. Lace is still quite young, and it's code is not quite 'the best.' Coincidentally, version 0.2 (a ground-up re-write) is well under way, and addresses many of the code-level organizational issues and a few other choice tweaks.

Lace v0.2 will also include a simple plug-in API that will allow developers to write their own plugins utilizing Lace (for example, a Lace plugin for Poseidon [http://www.wonko.com/poseidon] or WordPress, or).

Hmm, interesting. I thought I was the only one who had written a live-chatting system like this, but I guess not. I’m the author of Chategory ( http://www.cmmwebdesign.com/v3/software/chategory ), which coincidentally is also undergoing a complete makeover. I guess great minds think alike. ;)

Lol, I also thought I was the only one who'd written something like this. I released QWAD Chat (http://www.qwadchat.com/) a bit over 6 months ago, although it is lacking much support at the moment.
Users can embed it in their website, although at the moment it doesn't degrade.

Cheers,
Chris

PS: Others may also be interested in my other ajax application - http://www.feedtagger.com/ A web based RSS/tagging/Ajax aggregator.
