Category: Ajax, Component

<p>SmartClient is another Ajaxian piece of software that is:

  • an open DHTML/AJAX client engine
  • rich user interface components & services
  • client-server databinding systems

Take it for a Test drive to see what you think. Some interesting examples there.

Not bad.. but very slow. I couldn’t put up with an application that slow for too long. I’d rather have it no use Ajax and be faster. But I see the potential in this technology.

I would agree that it was slow, but I doubt it was due to any AJAX functionality itself. I have an ajax app I recently built at work and it is blindingly fast, even running on websphere :-)

Their UI is one of the best I’ve seen so far however. If it didn’t cost so much I would use it.

Seems to have a few compatibility problems with Mozilla Firefox…
Ex. rollovers in the Interactive Analytics demo
