Technorati Relaunch

Category: jQuery, Showcase

Dave Sifry announced that Technorati has had a refresh.

The core changes are in simplicity, and working across more than just blogs.

You will see the moving header across the top, trying to show the live web. The Ajax goodness on Technorati is brought to us via jQuery, as you can see via:

  1. <script src="http://static.technorati.com/static/js/base.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
  2. <script src="http://static.technorati.com/static/js/section-account.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
  3. <script src="http://static.technorati.com/static/js/jquery-dimensions.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
  4. <script src="http://static.technorati.com/static/js/pop.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

The blog-only search subsite is also very lean and mean.

form is great when it serves function, however as a long time user i can tell you that the “lean and mean” look is only skin deep. covering an infrastructure that’s far over reaching it’s ability to deliver, though somewhat off topic for this forum you may find String Theory and Technorati Forum Edicate of interest it speak to usability

Great Finally, Technorati is back to the game. Let beat out Google Reader or some other competitor.
