A few years ago I was working for a telephony company and the VP kept on harassing us on how fast/slow our site was taking to load. He kept on saying how much faster our competitors site was but really didn't have concrete data to back it up.

I wish this site existed back then, it's very useful.

Very useful site. Surely d3x and matanlurey could clear the browser cache before they do the load time test on sites. It's simple enough!

I find it more interesting that the same company offers websnapr, that allows you to create thumbnails of sites ... which browsers do you think generates these thumbnails? I'd be very surprised if some, or all, the thumbnails are generated by visitors to webslug.

It would be interesting for the tests to include cached and non-cached versions for actual network loading and local loading (scripts and stylesheets).

I don't think it's a very appropriate system. The reason I am saying this is because, once the site is cached in a browser, you can continuously "battle" it against other sites that are not cached yet resulting in one website to win every time.

Also, if you compare one site with the same site, it loses and wins(over itself), this seemed to me like a bug. :p
