WikiCalc Video

Dan Bricklin’s spreadsheet-style wiki, WikiCalc, is progressing nicely (we recently described its Ajax-style navigation). There’s no public demo as yet, so for those of us (ahem) who’ve been too lazy to install it, there’s a good overview in Wednesday’s RocketBoom, a 4 minute video with interview and walkthrough (via Dan Bricklin’s Log, which also includes a general update on wikicalc).

Actually the idea is great, I’ve been tracking it a while. There are others such as NumSum in this space. I think the combination of both of these technologies into a standard library we could all use could results in some killer numerical web apps. I also think that the Office Live future could benefit from it too at the price of maybe cannebilising Microsoft’s existing markets.
