I built a non-ajax version of this a while ago, like 2 years ago.

This becomes interesting when they have a few thousand users, and can do demand aggregation at the user level. Think about it, if wishlistr know that 200 people want a certain item for christmas, they buy in 200 from the manufacturer, sell ‘em at less than on the high street, to people purchasing gifts for this person. Wishlistr still make a profit, and the person gets there gift, and the person buying didn’t have to spend as much as they thought they would.

But my name was better ‘PresentThinking’ beats ‘wishlistr’. :-P

I think it’s not working correctly right now, when I try to add a new item to the wishlist the “ajax loader” stay loading forever and don’t add my item

Looks fab indeed. And I do like some of the ‘useful’ online community sites (BlinkList, LastFM) but wishlists?

It’s a social networking site/application with a highly specific use-case. My problem is that people still get me gifts that don’t appear on my wishlists, in whatever format, so the system as a whole breaks down.

I don’t have any issues with the site (well, it is sort of ugly). I guess I’m just not the sort of person that would find this application useful. I also don’t own a PDA, so I guess I’m really out with the e-list crowd. I still have pens and paper at my house.
