Why isn’t this site or any of the 4 you have listed actually use the Ajax Comments? Was there a problem with it?
I’ve just installed it and seems to be working Good for now :)

Excellent! I too was looking for a way to implement something like this without Squible or K2, and now I know! Also, I know this is off-topic but for those of you looking for a way to monetize your blog - try Chitika. I've tried a few others but Chitika still works the best for me.
