Yet Another Web 2.0 Button Generator

Category: Utility

The world may not have asked for another Web 2.0 button generator, but it just got one. “As Button Generator” (we’re assuming “As” is short for ActionScript) has a few features that sets it apart from the traditional fare:

It’s Flash-based, so you can interact live while you make changes, including drag-and-drop text placement, stripes (!), multiple gradient effects, and so forth.

We’ve got a few gripes, but overall, this is one of the best button generators we’ve seen. Nice!

I couldn’t get “Insert Text” to work on FF3 RC 3 on Mac OS X Intel running Leopard.

Nice UI though, assuming you can work out the kinks.

Yeah, it’s a little quirky. On FF RC3 OS X Leopard 10.5.3, what works for me is inserting text, selecting it with the mouse in the button preview, and then selecting the text in the edit window, and then applying the styles.

I’m not complaining, but I’m curious… if you have to add “Yet Another” prefixes to things, why even bother posting the article?

Once I added an image I couldn’t get rid of it. The buttons are pretty, though.

Cannot type the text in Unicode. That’s a deal-breaker for me.
