Zannel, Inc. is a venture funded startup backed by two, top-tier VC firms. We are located on Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA, and are currently in stealth mode developing a next-generation multimodal social entertainment platform that will revolutionize how content is experienced across connected devices. Founded by the team that built the largest mobile media platform in the US, we are in the process of assembling the core team to build out and launch our system. 1) SENIOR WEB ENGINEER
â€¢ Reports to the Director of Engineering
â€¢ Responsible for the design and development of dynamic browser-based user interface for our social entertainment platform.
â€¢ Responsible for requirements analysis, application design, project estimation, technical documentation, development, and testing for assigned projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
â€¢ Design and develop a highly intuitive interface that provides a high degree of utility without sacrificing simplicity
â€¢ Develop innovative features and solutions that enhance and extend our core product
â€¢ Establish yourself as our technology leader for browser based user interfaces
â€¢ Manage development of products and tools as our team grows
â€¢ Contribute to process development and management â€“ from design reviews to configuration management
â€¢ Provide accurate estimates for development projects and tasks
â€¢ Presentation of your products and solutions to peers, investors, partners, and clients
â€¢ Technical documentation as appropriate
â€¢ Deep understanding of Web 2.0 concepts: Wikis, RSS, Blogs, etc.
â€¢ High proficiency with object-oriented analysis and design methodologies
â€¢ Proficiency with C/C++, Java, Perl
â€¢ Familiarity with server-side development (involving Java Servlets, JSP, JSTL, etc.) and one or more Java Application Frameworks (Struts, Spring, etc.)
â€¢ Familiarity with database related development (SQL, JDO, etc)
â€¢ Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
â€¢ 4+ years experience in software development
â€¢ 2+ years advanced web development including experience with Ajax application development
â€¢ BS or MS in computer science or equivalent experience
